Description
Paramin is a village often covered in clouds, believed to have been a refuge for runaway slaves or “maroons.” Your driver-guide, a local resident, will lead you through the area in a rustic jeep along a narrow paved road. You will pass steep mountainsides cultivated with crops such as chives, thyme, parsley, cabbage, yam, and peppers as you approach the village center.
One key stop is “Our Lady of Guadalupe Church,” known for its unique Carnival Sunday mass conducted in Patois. As you walk through the village, you will visit a family preparing seasonal produce for market. The tour culminates at the Mt Saut D’Eau peak, offering expansive mountain views.
