If you're looking for a charming beachfront hotel then look no further than Le Grande Almandier. With only 10 suites, you'll really feel looked after here, and for those with a family the hotel has a selection of rooms that can sleep up to six people. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and amenities (hot water, shower and bath), and the onsite restaurant serves a selection of delicious seafood (caught right off the beach) and Trinidadian dishes. Prices are based on either a bed and breakfast plan (from U$116 for a single person) or for a full board (U$263 for a single person). Nature lovers can rejoice: the beach here is the second most prominent nesting location for the rare leatherback turtle in the world, and from March to September these gargantuan creatures drag themselves up the beach to lay their cargo. It truly is an awe-inspiring sight, and completely worth a visit for. Furthermore, the nearby bird sanctuary houses some of the Caribbean's most colourful residents: perfect for the avid twitcher!
