If you're wanting a quaint and relaxing hotel in the wilderness of Trinidad's countryside, then the Mt. Plaisir Estate Hotel is the: place to come.
Situated in the charming Grand Riviere area of Northern Trinidad, 116km from the capital, the Mt. Plaisir Estate Hotel offers 13 beautiful beachfront suites (accommodating four - six persons each) against a backdrop of lush tropical rainforest. Relaxation is the main source of entertainment here, and you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere better in Trinidad to kick back and chill. The hotel even has its own private beach!
The gorgeous suites have been fully furnished with the work of local craftsmen and artists, and if something takes your fancy then you're welcome to buy it!
The area is also a haven for naturalists and those with a taste of adventure. From canoeing along the Grande Riviere river to birdwatching and hiking in the rainforest, there is plenty to keep you occupied (should you so wish). The area is also renowned for its population of the rare leatherback turtle, which come to shore from March to August to lay their eggs. To see one is a rare thrill and worth the stay alone.
Food wise, the on-site restaurant is renowned for its sweet breads, cakes and breads; perfect for someone with a sweet tooth! There are also pizzas and flatbreads available for those wanting something a little more savoury. An on-site bar is open daily from 10am - 10pm: perfect for a sundown cocktail!
The hotel really is something special and if you're wanting to have a relaxing holiday; this is the place to come.
